Smoke and Mirrors

Picutres for Smoke and Mir

Smoke and Mirrors

If there’s method to this
madness then
go on, let me have it
because my nerves are
wearing thin and
the dawn is weighin’
in on
coffee and cigarettes,
as fancy as I get,
don’t got time for wasting
time, got money
on my lips and nothing
on my mind.

Mornin’, folks. Monday again, ain’t it? Well, we knew it had to come one way or another, didn’t we? Today’s post is all about the morning routine which is, in all reality, smoke and mirrors to me. Not the sort of shady subterfuge sort but actual smoke and mirrors aka cigarettes and trying to make myself look presentable enough not to frighten people when I leave the house. I know that ends up being the case for a lot of us, and you always hear people talking about ways to a happier life, especially on early morning talk shows or on info commercials, and this is just an ode to telling them to get to the point of it already. Great to hear about the happy-go-lucky hoorah, but we don’t have time for that, do we?

Well, as always, here’s to hoping that your day flies by and that you’ve got something cold or on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight.

  1. Luckily, after a certain age the burden lifts because no one really notices. Standard clothes, comb through the hair, just enough so that attention passes right by, to the young people, who deservedly get scrutinized. Happy Monday!
