Divine Intervention

Picture that reads I need something that's more than coffee but less than cocaine.

Divine Intervention

Spent the last two days
trying to forget
drank away the
night and day
the rest I just sat
wondering exactly
where time went

all of that only to be
back here again
this place where
coffee is my only friend

And yet I take that as
proof that, somewhere,
we’ve got a friend who,
somehow,
agrees
that we need a little help
to make it
awake and sane
through the
week.

Well, it happened again didn’t it folks? It’s Monday and that means we’ve got to get on back to our work week. Still, it’s not as bad as it could be. Just think of the horror it would be if there wasn’t anything like caffeine. What a cruel and horrible world it would be. That’s a scary thought right there.

Alright, I’ll let you get back to your day. Have a good one, and, as always, here’s to hoping your day flies right on by and that you’ve got something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight.

P.S.

Having a bit of a hard start to your week? Why not check out my Pinterest for some more Monday Humor or take a look back at my previous Monday poems? Might just see a little something to help you make it through the day.

Compensation

I deserve a lil’
something
for dealing with these
morning woes
I’ve got one hand
out
(the others too busy
holding my coffee)
demanding a raise simply
because I
rose.

Mornin’, Folks. Made it another round back to Monday, didn’t we? Well, hopefully you’re either in love with your job or getting paid enough to rise early and stay going until the day is gone because, man, can those hours seem long if you aren’t. This little one above is a nice call to that, feeling those mornings where you just don’t think you’re getting paid enough to get up and go through the Monday mornin’ drag.

Well, ending that little rant, here’s to hoping your day flies by and that you’ve got something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight.

Start Again. Together.

Does not get better than this

Does not get better than this

I’m shoveling dirt
out of this hole and
onto my back
40 hours at a time
5 days a week
at best

and I’m watching life
out of the
corner of my eye
the years just
keep on
stepping and gathering
flowers
and passing me by.

Well, it’s enough to make
anyone biter
and I cant
judge no matter how

hard I try

but rather
sing a cadence
a worker’s song
that makes
the hours go smoother
a little sweet
something
just to know you’re
not
alone.

Monday again, folks. Well, at least for this one I’m happy to say I’m back. Not happy for it, of course, but just happy to be back among the writers and readers. Been far too long.

Well, if you’ve been by before, you know the drill: I’ve got some things to try and brighten your Monday listed down below. If you’re new, I’m happy to have you. Check out the links below. Might just help sooth that Monday misery if you’re just getting started to drudge through the week like me.

Well, no mater how it goes, here’s to hoping that your day flies on by and that you have something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight!

That Bold Morning Scent

Content coming next week, folks! I promise. Finally got up to date on my writing pools. For now, however,  check out my Pinterest for some Monday Humor or take a look back at my previous Monday poems. And, if you’re feeling a little nostalgic, check back at this poem published last year on / around this date.
