Monday Madness

Well, folks, working on some new content for you now that a lil’ hiccup in life has finally taken a backseat. Until then, be sure to check out the pinterest board below and my old Monday poems. If there’s anything particular you’d like to see, be sure to let me know and I’ll see I can work it on into the schedule. You know I’m always eager to please.

As always, here’s to hoping your day flies right on by and that you’ve got something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight.

We’ll Take What We Can Get

We’re not
in it to win it we’re
just trying hard to
cut our loss
clutching the time that’s
left
playing life so very close
to the chest
wondering when where
can we get off?

Well, it’s Monday again. Sure, we all gotta rise but we might not particularly feel too inclined to shine. We’re just trying to go through the motions while trying to work out how best to make them stop.

Hope you liked the little scrap above. If ya did, feel free to stop by and comment below. Good to hear from some kindred souls now and again.

As always, here’s to hoping your day flies right on by and that you’ve got something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight.

For The Rest Of Us

Preach, Death Wish Coffee. Preach.

Well, well, well. I heard tell that some of you special snowflakes out there have this Monday all to yourselves. While you’re all out, relaxin’, here’s something for the rest of us to go on. May it help us get on a lil quicker through the day.

The Secret To My Failure

b473c85da1cf748a99bbbdd48321faa0.jpg

(or, as I like to call it, Lies That Books Told Me)

It isn’t that I’m not eager or that
I shy away from
(hard) work,
It’s just that I’m 90% incompetent
and 10% a jerk,
bitter,
running off ambitions and
the dying steam of dreams,
jaded from  my memories
and all the lies that books
told to me:

-Things get bad, but the good guys always
wins
-the villains always laugh but they’ll
go down in the end

-That, in a hallway full of walls,
a door would open up for me
-that people might wave but, in the end,
good is what they’ll be

-That,if you get lost, something awesome is
waiting out there for you
-And, most loathed of all, the world’s a good place if your
heart remains true

Well, there you have it folks. Figured it’s Monday so I might as well be on the level with everyone else who is suffering on through. Just a little tidbit of myself and how I rose to this illustrious position that I am now, bringing you little scraps of myself in hopes that we can all just keep on going and pull on through.

As always: here’s to hoping your day flies right on by and that you’ve got something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight.

To Each Their Own

To Each Their Own

Here,
in the darkness willing,
where dreams grow weak,
and hearts weary,
I am home.

There
is music in this misery
stories to be told,
and adventures to be had
even when alone.

Anywhere
there exists mood there
to you’ll find a muse
only waiting for someone
to call their own.

It’s true. I mean, take a good look at E. A. Poe and see what I mean? If there is one thing I have learned in life it is that everyone has their own way of life, and to just live under the banner of ‘to each their own’.  Basically I follow under the principle that people can do whatever floats their boat as long as they don’t rock mine.  Simple, right?

Anywho, happy weekend, folks, and I hope you enjoyed this one!

. . .

My words didn’t come when called,
two weeks of being stalled and, look,
they’re gone!

Ungrateful whelps.

Words, disloyal strays that need
all the help they can get and, yet,
when I need a moment to deal with
life, I merely blink and they’ve
jumped ship!

Gone in search of some other mouth,
another mind where they can shred,
memories up, and nest and hide,
lending themselves reluctantly,
never coming half the time!

Feh.

I don’t know why I bother,
thumbing through pages, their
synonyms calling,

Here, uhh malice! Here, spite!
Here, malevolence! Umm, I know it
starts with an…A?

Ohhhh, what’s the
use of it? Not like I need them anyway,
getting vowels all over the rugs,
leaving plural little stains.

Fickle things, words.

Thought’s dirty
little strays.

You can’t live with them. You can’t live without them. Words and writers seem to have a rather unique relationship going on. They need writers to get written, and writers need them to, well, write. Either way, it can often be tense when one end isn’t working like it should. Now, in their defense, I did have about two weeks there where I couldn’t write. Still….

Anywho, hope you enjoyed the post today! Here’s to your week ending quickly! Hold on, cause there are only two days left, folks. You can do it and I’ll do whatever I can to make it seem just a little less far away 🙂
