It’s short. It’s sweet. It’s Friday, folks! Welcome to the weekend and congratulations for making it this far. Here’s to hoping that your weekend is long, your drinks are cold, and that Monday finds you roaring and ready to go!

we’re all just rushed

It’s short. It’s sweet. It’s Friday, folks. Hopefully you’re making it the end of your own war week and you’ve got some much needed leave time commin’ on this weekend. Round here we’re just getting some more writing scraped together for the next week’s rounds and doing a bit of upkeep on some personal writing. Also, if you take a look at the menu bar above, you’ll see that I added a poetry collaboration link as I’m looking to get started working with some of you. Figured I’ve been hanging around here long enough and lingering on posts so it’s time to get a chance to work with some of ya.¬† If you’re intrested, please feel free to check out the page here: COLLABORATIONS

Well, as always, I hope that your weekend is long, your drinks are cold, and Monday finds you roaring and ready to go. Have a drink for me tonight, folks, because we all deserve one after making it through another week!

Poetry Collaborations: OPEN

Hey, folks. If you’re a regular around here, you might have noticed a new page up there on the tool bar. I’d love to get some work going with other bloggers. I’m currently thinking anything from writing poems back and forth with either a certain topic or prompt to just featuring the work on our blogs in a steady sort of flow. If you’re interested and want to give it a go, see if the criteria below fits your interests and then post a message here and we can start hashing things out.

Things You Should Probably Know:

  • I post normally 3 times a week but would consider adding an extra day just devoted to features
  • Most of my writing is either sarcastic or down right silly
  • I’d like to keep things light aka I’m not looking for any dark or sorrowful tones here
  • I do like using imagery when I actually write seriously so this is also an option (but I wouldn’t get your hopes up)
  • Alcohol + Me = A certainty (if this subject is touchy for you, probably should move along)
  • I, in no way, will condone or affiliate with writing that can be taken as hate speech against ANY group
  • I’m as chatty as a liquored-up lark¬† so get ready for some communication
  • I write because I love it and because I’m too lazy to pick up another hobby so let’s keep things fun

Alright, if you don’t have a problem with any of that above go ahead and post here and we can start talking and I look forwards for the opportunity to work with you!

I Get By

I Get By

I Get By

I get dragged under
pushed over
fed up
put down

but still I
get by.

Simple and short, this one gets right to the point, folks. Just a little quip that I thought you might enjoy. No matter what tries to work you over, what knocks you down or what takes you off your feet, all that matters is that you simply keep going and that you get on by.

Here’s to hoping that your day flies by and that you’ve got something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight!

Birds of the Orient

Birds of the Orient

Birds of the Orient

Flung and fluttered into luxury,

against golden bars their timid wings do flap,

and under stars they grow calloused scars,

burns of gaudy straps.

Mornin’, folks. Monday again, but at least this one’s a little better. Why? Well, because I’m back at posting, of course. Got the summer business out of the way and now I’m finally set back up to write again. Wanted to throw up this lil’ one in the morning, and I hope you enjoy. While it’s not my usual funny Monday poem, I like the imagery and the sound of it and I hope you do too.

Well, as always, here’s to hoping that your day flies by and that you have something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight.

Rally the Brethren of the Bloggers

If pens are
mightier than swords
well, we’ve got keys that
clack louder than any
army can scream and with
our shared words we’ll wash
this world clean from screen
to shining

It’s short, it’s sweet, and it’s Friday, folks! Welcome to the end of the week and I hope you’ve made it unscathed or at least in need of only some slight repair. Was thinking of you today last night when I typed this little diddy down. Thought of all the words and the comments shared between people like me and you and, well, it’s damn impressive what we can do when we put our mutual minds together, isn’t it?

Here’s to hoping that your weekend is long, your drinks are cold and that Monday, when it rears its ugly head, finds you roaring and ready to go. Have a drink on me, folks, and have a good weekend.
