How did we get here?
it took to
be so far stranded
to see so clearly how
everything so guided
Then exfil with your
anger and make
face the facts and
unfollow trends that
Just a lil’ scrap as promised, folks. Sticking with the theme of vicious cycles, of course. Working on getting some more of my poetry work ready for submission, and found this scrap I thought you were all owed.
As always, I hope your Monday flies on by and that you’ve got something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight.
Running on empty
right into a wall
left in a heap of
limbs, bills, withdrawal
stitch it up together with
clocks, laws, regrets
pick it back up because
life’s not done with you yet.
Another Monday, another poem to moan it’s arrival. Here’s to hoping that you stop on by, like what you see, and maybe got a little smile. ‘Cause you know we need them this time of the week.
Well, as always, here’s to hoping your day flies right on by and that you’ve got something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight.
We don’t have to settle for
lives of regret
We can still
lost tendrils of
the us we

Mornin’, folks. Looks like Monday is at it again. Still, despite being stuck on that weekly wheel, we don’t have to just go with the grind. Wrote a little something that I hope reminds you that there’s still plenty of time to do what you wanna do and be who you wanna be. That’s right, it’s just a lil’ Monday motivation from the likes of me. Hope you enjoy.
As always: here’s to hoping your day flies right on by and that you’ve got something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight.
Tomorrow brings a new year and a new poem but, for tonight, a little somethin’ positive to help lift the mood. Have fun, be safe, and drink as much as a person can possibly consume! Thanks, to everyone, for an amazing year.
I’ll be here doing a shot for you 🙂
One foot in front of the other
Stumble out to the coffee maker and
Then kinda fumble to the tune of that
Hissing coughing sort of sound
Swipe it up and then swig it down
Check the clock as it ticks around and
Glare at the hour that you wish you’d never
Have to see again
Then get dressed as you squawk and grumble
Fight with your tie and then you tumble
Out into the world with one foot still planted firmly
In the hole you’ve dug yourself
But fear not because we’re all beside you
entrenched in our own graves as we march behind you
brining up the rear of that long walk we could all
Monday. Couldn’t stop it if I wanted to, folks. Well, at least we’re all here together, sort of a mutual misery about having to start another work week. We’ll get through it, I promise, folks. Just gotta put one foot in front of the other and maybe spike your mug with a little something to make the day a bit easier to pass on by.
I wanna go ahead and add that I saw the above picture on a Facebook page which I follow. I highly suggest that you head over to We Drink Because We’re Poets and follow ‘um along if you want some good inspiration, or just the occasional laugh or two. I have to say they’ve often made my day with a post or two they’ve done round there so they are worth checking out.
Well, here’s to hoping that your day flies on by and that you’ve got something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight.
Though we all must pay
the man with a thousand
upon a thousand names,
we don’t have to dance to
his gilded tune
masters of fate all,
we can craft and fall
into our own
Wrestle with regrets
until your thoughts grow
keep them bottled up
and you’ll be none the wiser
you shouldn’t hide from
go into dark to meet ‘um
fires will always burn
until there’s nothing left
to feed them.
Hey, folks. Halfway through the work we so far and hope you’re makin’ it through just fine. Wrote a little serious poem today. No jokes or jabs, just a little good advice given in a nicely sounding way. You’ll have to thank some wild fire’s for the last few lines as I just jotted them down while thinking about them and the rest of the poem just sort of fell into place. Gotta love when that happens, because it sure isn’t often.
Well, I hope you enjoyed it and, as always, I hope that your day flies on by and that you’ve got something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight.
We’re stuck in it
mucked up but
we’re in luck
you roll with the
and learn to take those
you’ll be immune
by the world and
you can make
Monday again, folks, and I hope you’re getting though it like the best of them. It is back to the grind over here after a slight vacation away from it and, well, no one likes coming back right away, do they? Still, if we learn to work through it and get used to some of the bumps and shoves, it turns out it might not be so bad here. Plenty of things to do. Places to go. People to see. Things to drink.
Well, here’s to hoping that your day flies by and that you’ve got something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight.
We seldom double back
on our own paths
and yet we trod them
and then we curse the stars
our past, our scars
and forget we met them
Halfway there, folks. Got a little somethin’ for you posted above that I was dwelling on after reading some Frost. Now, I’m not saying you should live with regret or even feel it. Thing is, no matter where we are, most of it was done by our own choosing. Just gotta, you know, carry on and keep going from there. Maybe little a little more mindful of what we’re doing and what we’re about to step in next time.
Here’s to hoping that the rest of the week flies on by and that you’ve got something cold and on the rock waiting for you when you get home tonight.
