What you don’t know will
what you know and ignore will
what flames you fan will
and what lesser evils you opt will
Welcome to your Monday morning, folks. Might as well start it off with a little verse while we get back into the swing of things.
As always, here’s to hoping your day flies right on by and that you’ve got something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight.
I ask you
Do not devalue the
gravity of the day,
the importance of the this revelry
to fear, fright.
This is the one night where we,
breath in myth and out
We exude shadows and
from our hearts
shades seep, for one eve,
out of our primal psyche and, again,
into our now hollow
Happy Halloween, folks! I hope you’re planning to enjoy the night because, let’s face it, at our age we don’t get too many frights which are actually this harmless nor fun. Have a few extra shots on me and here’s to hoping that your night brings a whole lot of fun, a little hells, and some much needed chills to ground ya on down!
Life’s a hard one but
we’re a hell of a lot harder
Monday mornings, broken cars, bills
because we, my friends,
have got each other and there’s
no force that can kick us enough
to keep us down
because we’ve been low
and yet we’ve found that we
quite enjoyed the view
so, you see my friends,
I’ve got this life
as long as it’s you’ve
I’ve got you
It’s Monday again, folks, but let me tell you that this is a good one. Why? Well, because over the weekend a handful of my friends here helped me and gave me a little insight that I needed for some research I was doing. It is because of them and to them that I dedicate that poem above because, well, life’s a hell of a lot easier to go through when you’ve got such awesome people as them there to help you out.

Thank you! Honestly, your input was absolutely priceless when it came to working with this project. Not only did you help boost my grade, but the information is something that I personally value as a way of understanding my fellow bloggers. I really couldn’t have done this with you so, again, thank you 🙂 ( If I forgot to add anyone, please remind me and I’ll toss you up onto here asap. )
Well, here’s to hoping that your day flies by and that you’ve got something cold and on the rocks waiting when you get home tonight.
Like Christmas packages we rip
the beauty off of souls
searching deep inside for what?
No one ever really knows.
It’s short. It’s bittersweet. It’s Friday, folks! I hope you enjoyed this tiny little poem that was inspired directly from Charles Bukowski’s Alone With Everybody. I was reading over the poem and this one sort of came about. Thought you might enjoy it and, even if this one wasn’t your style, here’s to hoping that you find your weekend more to your liking!
I’m terrified of
and my heart sinks
beats when I think
of the unwritten road
you’re there with
and though you may
never hold my hand tight
you’ll make me
might be a happy
ending to come
if I still follow
Well, it’s Monday again, folks. Not a bad one, if I might say so. Mostly on the line that I finally got my thank you out to you all. Had one of those times where I was writing a completely different poem but this one sprung out of a though I had during it and, well, it turned out to be a little better of one. I hope you enjoy it as that is the point. Always.
I honestly can’t thank everyone enough. You have no idea how every like, every follow, and every comment keeps me going and keeps me writing. I wouldn’t be able to do this without you.
Anywho, be on the lookout today for the next poem I’ll be posting today. It is a tiny lil’ poem but I think you’ll enjoy it!
Here’s to hoping your day flies by and that you have something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight!
He’s waiting, watching with a smile,
Cleaning counters with one hand and
Thoughts going a minute per mile
On what the evening’s gonna bring
He’s seen it all, and he’s kept them
Running, happily filled and staunched
When they were getting a little too
Detracted or short on their money
A dying breed, he’s turned out alright
One part philosopher, and the other part
A person who knows how to
have a good time,
He’s a philanthropist tending,
mending moods, and cultivating dreams,
keeping the conversation flowing,
right alongside those tantalizing drinks.
It’s simple. It’s sweet. It’s Friday, folks. Welcome to the weekend! I hope you enjoy this diddy about that awesome but dying breed of bartenders; it’s those people who really are there to take care of you, keep the conversation flowing, and keep the drinks on comming. So, in short, this is an ode to the people I think the world could do with a few more of.
Here’s to hoping that your weekend is long, your drinks stiff, and your company worth keeping.
It’s all those small things
you’ll never notice,
those courtesies commonly used,
it’s the ‘hello, how are ya’s,
and all those ‘how do you do’s,
it’s the smiles freely given
and the late evening nods
of the head, and all those
strangers simply passing,
extending themselves without
words ever said,
compliments without conditions,
and wishes without desires,
it’s all the things we’d
never count that help us
pass the miles.
Happy Friday, folks. It’s finally here and I’m sure we’re all ready for it. Hope you enjoyed the words above and, even more so, I hope you have enough of those small little things to make your day just fly by. I swear it’s the kind compliments and the small smiles that keep me going around here, and it’s nice to stop once in a while and appreciate them.
Here’s to hoping your weekend is long, your drinks are cold, and you come out fightin’ on Monday.
It’s happened, folks. Over 2000 of you awesome individuals clicked the follow me button and, well, I am mighty grateful for it. Honestly, I can say how much I appreciate each and everyone of you who took the time to even stop by for a brief moment and look over a poem or two here. Now, if you just wanna read my thank you poem, I suggest skipping to the end. If not, then let me fill you in on a little bit of the exciting news going on around here.
Firstly, I’ve had the honor of getting my poem “Indecision” freshly pressed. I can’t tell you what an awesome surprise that was, and it was an amazing pick me up. A little bit of an ego booster, so to speak. There’s nothing like seeing something I put myself into actually get such a good deal of attention. Secondly, I have been nominated by several of you for a handful of awards, all of which I completely honored and floored by. Those will all get their own post, and I’ll be mentioning you for the sake of being awesome enough to think of me. Third, I’ll be launching my new facebook page soon, so you’ll want to keep an eye out for that folks, as I’ll be able to connect a bit better with all of you.
Finally, I just have to say that, between getting freshly pressed, the sheer number of you amazing people, and the chance to actually connect more with everyone, that this has made the best birthday I have had in a very, very long time. I honestly can’t remember a time when I’ve felt this good about life in general, nor when I’ve been this motivated to keep on, keepin’ on. Though it’s not officially till Sunday, I couldn’t possibly think of any other present that could make me feel so swell.
Thank you, honestly, for ever single second of your time. I can’t think of a single thing I value higher nor anything I’d rather have more.
As for the post, I’ve got a possessive little poem that’s just for you. Yep, you and only you. Think of it as my little ‘thank you’ for helping me limp my writing along. I really do appreciate it and, now, without further ado:
just, in this moment,
there is nothing
only in each other’s
my rhymes ghost
and your lips
lap this sentence:
that we are us,
an intimate assembly,
essences who flicker
in mutual envy
of our minds.
you will always be
Once again, thank you kindly, folks. I couldn’t do it without ya.
Where I want to be and
where I’m at aren’t
exactly in the same
In fact, I’m reachin’
for tall pines that
preach in early
morning hours of
better ways and
breathe in our
worries and out
I’m shooting for skies
that drip of stars
and breezes that
waft away the tax
you get from simply
and I’m not there yet
but I’m dying to be
striving with each
ounce of my soul
and putting all
energy into heading
where I feel
that I’m free-
Happy Friday, folks! Hopefully you got both yesterday and today off (if you were both here in the US and unlike me). Above is just a little personal poem, as I am currently stuck in the midwest but planning a move out to Washington State sometime this year that, like all good things, keeps getting shoved farther and farther back due to randomness. It’s one of those situations where life can’t move fast enough and, of course, isn’t. I’m going to keep scratching away, however, until I finally end up where I want to be.
Well, I hope you enjoyed a bit of my personal poem above, but I hope even more that your weekend is long, relaxing, and that Monday comes to find you well rested, and ready for the week ahead.
It’s the kind of friend
that’ll pat you on the back
with a bread knife,
Malicious or indifferent
it’s got its own sort of
saunter going on and plans
you ain’t a part of.
watch yourself, kid, cause
there’s no heart in the
heavens that will let you
win, and the only strength
you’ll find is in that breath
which you were dealt
Lil’ word of advice for some people that you’ve got alllll this life to live, but you’re the only one who is ever going to do anything with it. Honest.
Anywho, it is just a little middle of the week motivation for ya. Hope you all get the holiday off tomorrow, and that you’re weekend is long and relaxing as it should be!
